What is Eye Promise?

Eye Promise is a national code of conduct, regulated by the Association of Independent Optometrists (AIO), founded to ensure quality eyecare for the patients of all members.

How does it benefit you if the optician or optometrist is an Eye Promise member?

There is a difference between long term eye health care and simple refraction and dispensing of spectacles and contact lenses. Eye health care is about identifying early symptoms of potential eye diseases or conditions, and this can help prevent long term sight loss. Refraction and dispensing is about improving sight in day to day activities. Both are important, but not every optical practice provides long term eye health care.

Eye Promise Practices are committed to providing long term eye health care as well as excellent refraction and dispensing services for all their patients.

What this means is summarised in the following 5 Promises below.
